Annual Tiny Tots Activities
Many activities are planned throughout the year. However, we have 3 parties that are the big events for the Fall, Winter & Spring terms. Our fall events include a hayride to a pumpkin patch, followed by a harvest/costume party. During the winter we have a Valentine's dance with live music. And, for the spring we have our annual carnival, with lots of games and crafts for the children.
Hay Ride to the Pumpkin Patch
During the month of October, we gather at one of the local farms for an afternoon of fun. Children can go on a hayride, visit the animals, or pick out a pumpkin or produce. For the past 3 years, this event has been at Herricks Farm.
Herrick Farms is located at 88080 Millican Rd., Springfield, OR 97478. Phone # 741-1046. Click here for a map and directions.
Harvest Celebration & Costume Parade
The last Saturday before Halloween is our annual Harvest/Costume party. Children (and parents) are encouraged to come dressed in costumes. During the party children can play a variety of fun games, create numerous crafts, or color. Towards the end of the event the kids are invited to join in a parade around Tiny Tots. This is a fun, non-scary event that all of the children love.
Valentine's Dance
This event will take place February 7, 2009, from noon to 2 p.m. We will have games, music, dancing, snacks and crafts. Always a fun event! This year we will feature the music of Anahid Bertrand from 12:30-1:00 PM. This event is for members only, no guests please!
Spring Carnival
Our spring carnival is held on the second Saturday of May. This event is open to the public. Admission is FREE for member & non-member families! There will be numerous activities, including a bean bagtoss, face painting, duck pond, miniature golf, and much more! Feel free to invite your friends, families and neighbors... It's open to everyone!
There will be prizes for every child! Plus a Silent Auction on gift baskets to raise money for our scholarship fund and to aid Tiny Tots with general operating costs. Also, you can find out how to pre-enroll for next year at a discount!! (Pre-enrollment is open to members and non-members alike!)
Additional Activities
Tiny Tots is more than just a place to play! It is also a place to meet your friends for fun activities. Here are just a few of the activities that we plan throughout the year. We hope that you and your little ones will enjoy!
Story / Circle Time: A member reads the children stories and/or does songs with finger/hand movements and/or whole body movements.
Arts & Crafts: A member helps the children create various craft projects - usually related to the season/holidays.
Fire Station Fieldtrip: Members meet at a local fire station to see the stationhouse, fire trucks and/or fire engines, and some of the equipment used by firefighters. This has become such a popular event, that we do it twice annually!
Children's Clothes / Toys Swap: Members donate clothing and/or toys, then check to see if any of the items suits their needs. Swapping is limited to members who donate items. A perfect opportunity to save some money ... because they all seem to grow out of those clothes so fast!
PJ Party: Members meet at Tiny Tots during the evening hours. Children may wear their pajamas and bring a favorite bedtime story to share. Members may bring a picnic style dinner and make an evening of the event. Children will go home worn out and ready for bed!
Summer Play Dates In The Parks: Tiny Tots moves outdoors during the summer months! We will set up a rotating schedule, and meet at different parks in Eugene and Springfield over the summer while Tiny Tots is closed. This is a great way for the kids, and parents, to stay connected with their friends.
